CHORUS MASTER

Jennifer Grover brings an extensive choral background to the position of Chorus Master of the Townsend Opera Chorus, having been appointed to that position in April 2010. After extensive performing in her childhood and adolescence, Ms. Grover studied vocal performance at BYU-Idaho, where she sang in their exclusive A Capella choir, toured Canada, and sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. After graduating with an Associates degree, she taught a private piano and vocal studio for over fifteen years. Ms. Grover recently attended CSU Stanislaus to pursue a degree in choral education, and is currently working toward a teaching credential.

As a soloist, Ms. Grover has sung roles in The Tales of Hoffman, The Magic Flute, and The Merry Widow, and has performed with the Livermore Amador Symphony. She is also a regular participant in recitals and vocal competitions, and is an active member of American Choral Directors Association, Chorus America, and Music Educators National Conference.

In 2004, Ms. Grover founded the Tracy Community Choir, which has grown to a non-auditioned organization consisting of three separate ensembles and over 100 members.
